How to follow up on the status of a job application in a correct way?
When you have submitted an online application for a job, you will understandably be eager to find out about what is the status of your application. However, it's important to realize that the hiring screening process will take some time and you may not hear back right away. Unfortunately, you may not hear back at all.
This is a very important advice about when and how to follow up on the status of a job application. And also about what is the correct way to follow up?
There are few things to do before you follow up. See, if any of the information on when you can expect to hear back from the company. If they give you a date, be sure to wait until the given date and only after that date you should follow up.
It is usually best to wait for a week or two before making an inquiry. It's important to give the employer enough time to review all job applications and to get ready to schedule interviews. If you follow up any sooner, you might come across as pushy or impatient to the employer. And this may be a very bad impact on the employer and your chances of getting shortlisted will be diminished.
